Marsilia

Tonight I found out my name in Italian - marcia - means either "rotten" or "gears" in the gearbox. So, with the help of my professor, I have a new name. This will certainly have to be used when in Italia. No wonder I got some odd looks when trying to say my name in Italian. Marsilia sounds pleasant and is a name that comes from a famous ruler. My teacher started using it right away. I think he was relieved.

Since coming back from Italian class and having walked a solid two miles after work, the challenge to make art every day is truly a challenge. In honor of Italia and my heritage, I am going to begin a painting of something fun - confetti (candy)  in Sulmona, Italia. It is a town quite close to where mia padre was nate.  I'll post it soon. So, should I sign my work Marsilia? I guess only time will tell. Let me know what you think!
