Christmas Surprises

I got home tonight and was welcomed by a large water puddle around my furnace. Hmmm. That doesn't look quite right. I had just returned from a brisk walk in sub-freezing temperatures, and I was feeling quite chipper and alive. Seeing the puddle put a damper on my good humor. Christmas surprise - concern.

I enlisted the help of a neighbor named Jerry. Yes, there still are really great neighbors out there. He poked and prodded until he removed a pump that takes H2O out of the air before the air goes outside. Jerry scrubbed up the mucky insides of the pump and tried to get the pump up and pumping. No go. He graciously offered to help get a new one, and stuck a bucket under the hose that had the dripping water. Christmas surprise - kindness.

Then a friend sent me a Christmas "wave". I marveled at the time it may have taken to create, and I wondered if I could use it for my daily artwork. Here it is: .ø¤MERRYº°¨¨°º¤ø °¨¨°º¤ø ¸„ø¤º°¨¨°º¤ø¸CHRISTMAS¤ø ¸„ø¤º°¨¨°º¤ø ø¤º°¨¨¨°º¤ø ¸„ø¤MERRYº°¨¨°º¤ø ¸„ø¤º°¨¨°º¤ø ¸„ø¤º°¨¨°º¤ø,„CHRISTMAS¤ø ¸„ø¤º°¨¨°º¤ø ø¤º° .ø¤MERRYº°¨¨°º¤ø °¨¨°º¤ø ¸„ø¤º°¨¨°º¤ø¸CHRISTMAS¤ø ¸„ø¤º°¨¨°º¤ø ø¤º°¨¨¨°º¤ø
Christmas surprise - fun.

I have class tonight, so my dream of starting the watercolor of the red amaryllis from my classroom will have to wait until 9:00.
I just wonder what my next Christmas surprise will be.

My class never happened because my neighbor came over to try to fix the heating system as I was leaving. The final diagnosis is that the water in a water line has frozen, so I have to wait it out until warmer weather. While I was moving things away from the water, I found a long canvas and thought it might be nice for the amaryllis. Final Christmas surprise for today - drawing - for an oil painting. Never thought I'd do that on my own without a class or anyone pushing me.
