Sri Lanka Memories

I've gone back to Sri Lanka tonight! Well, not exactly, but I have been working on a power point presentation for a chapel talk about my visit to Sri Lanka this past summer. What an adventure that was! I am up late tonight and needing to do some art for the 365 day challenge.

I was flooded with memories as I clicked through the Sri Lankan pictures. I remember hot,hot dusty days with high humidity, beautiful smiling faces of little children at the nutrition program, the peaceful orphanage for handicapped girls and the sweet children at the Montessori pre-school. At each place, I gave the children art lessons. They loved it. They sat quietly and intently as they made lovely, cheery cards.

My hope is to make prints of some of the cards to try to sell and raise more support for the children. And now to paint a bit.....Italian plums I picked at a farmhouse in Cinque Terra. I had sketched it there, and I am happy to be getting back them! I'll try to paint something from Sri Lanka another day.
