I was thinking back over my week with its ups and downs. Monday, I spoke in chapel and shared my passion for Jesus being honored and children being fed through the nutrition program. Many were greatly encouraged to be a part of the "Hidden Treasures" sale to raise support for meals for orphans. I felt so happy to have been used by God to share the needs of those precious 30 children. Little ones hoping for a hot meal in Sri Lanka.
Tuesday, my pump aspect to my heating system broke, and water was all over the garage floor. Tuesday night, Wednesday and Thursday - no hot water. Thursday was a really hard day at work, and tonight I find that my hot water tank's dial was set to "vacation". I turned it to "Hot". and I am happily looking forward to a hot shower in the morning. Hmmm. Did elves come and turn it to "vacation"? If I am on vacation, I want to know!
Today, I had a hard day for reasons I can't go into. Let's just say, power and control reared its ugly head again. I feel like such an emotional artist during those times. I really have a tender heart given to me by God. I pray He can redeem any dishonoring parts of my day eventually. I'll have to sit back, rest in the Lord and enjoy the ride. Thanks Vickie and Judy for your love and encouragement.
Tomorrow is Friday, and hoping for snow, tucking into bed with a good book and coffee, is probably an exercise in futility. It's late and I have no drawing. I would love for drawing time to be all fun and no discipline.
I have always been encouraged by Matisse's story. Having been a lawyer, later in life he became an artist. He used to get up each day, go to his studio just as if he was going to his law office, and he would create. I need that kind of discipline as well as wild, passionate ideas.
I guess I will sketch a foot tonight. Talk about wild!
