Cleaning day.

I had the day off, so I slept in late. It is an amazing gift to not have to dash out the door in the dark, early morning. Usually, dark, cold, rainy, early, Seattle morning. But, today the sun kissed my bedroom and flooded it with light. Sunlight is so special around here. It's kind of like, "Oh, yeah, there's the sun today, how unusual and really nice." It pops out after 7 days of rain and, well, there it is. All fresh and new like a newborn. And then it starts raining again, like it is right now.

So, in today's sunshine, I got right to cleaning and house repairs. I am so much more organized now; the house is really neat and clean. Once again, I have a great spot in order to paint all set up. I have a watercolor in process I am deepening with new paints. A friend expressed an interest in a print of it, so I thought I'd keep going on the changes I want to make. I just found it slumped over in the garage, and I marveled at how I can have piles of artwork in such a jumble.

It's almost like I had a relationship with the piece when I was in the process of making it. I paint away totally in my right brain. Happy. I'm good about being able to part with my artwork, because I've had so much fun just doing it. I don't need to have it hanging on my wall. OK, I'll paint a little bit before bed. I am trying to deepen the sky.
